Women Need Women in Recovery

This year's event focuses on the power of women's relationships
in the
recovery process

The 5th Annual Women in Recovery Luncheon will be held on May 22, 2012 from 11:00am to 1:30pm on the Father Martin's Ashley campus. Proceeds from this luncheon benefit the Mae Abraham Legacy Fund, which supports Ashley's Women's Program.

The 2012 honoree is U.S. Congresswoman Mary Bono Mack. Rep. Bono Mack was first elected in 1998 to serve the people of California’s 45th District. She has been a leader in the fight against prescription drug abuse and serves as a co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Prescription Drug Abuse.

The luncheon keynote speaker is legendary singer and songwriter, Judy Collins. Judy overcame addiction when entering treatment in 1978, and has been living a life of recovery for over 30 years. Ms. Collins is a strong advocate for addiction recovery and also suicide prevention since losing her son to suicide in 1992.
