Program Overview
"Welcome to Ashley. The nightmare is over." – Father Joseph Martin, S. S.
Alcoholism and drug addiction have devastating effects for alcoholics, addicts and the people they love. While at times a situation for an alcoholic or addict may feel hopeless, we believe that all alcoholics and addicts can, and deserve to be, treated for their disease and given the opportunity to lead full lives in recovery.
The Ashley treatment program is based upon this understanding of addiction and Father Martin’s treatment philosophy. The treatment at FMA is private, respectful and dignified, and helps each individual patient learn skills to support life-long recovery.

Inpatient treatment is based on the 28-day model, but a stay can be longer due to clinical recommendations. All patients participate in daily group therapy, led by a certified addiction counselor, and individual therapy with the same counselor. Groups are usually limited to eight patients, so each person receives individual and personalized attention from their counselor throughout their stay at Ashley.
-
Patients have access to our full-time medical staff for physical and psychiatric care as needed. Detoxification is medically supervised on site by our trained doctors and nursing staff.
-
-
Primary treatment is offered for patients who have never received treatment or who have little knowledge of addiction and recovery tools and terminology. The treatment program embraces and reinforces 12 Step recovery methods.
-
-
Specialized, Gorski-certified relapse treatment is given for patients that have had prior treatment, or an extended period of sobriety, and then relapsed. This program was devised and pioneered at Ashley to dig deeper into the causes of relapse for patients who have difficulty maintaining sobriety, with the goal of lifelong recovery once the patient completes the program.

Women's, Men and Young Adult Tracks
-
Within both the primary and relapse treatment programs are tracks geared specifically towards women, men, and young adults. Through breakout group discussion, lectures and activities patients are able to explore issues unique to their gender and/or age group.
-
-
Following in the tradition of spiritual care established by Father Martin, we offer spiritual guidance from our pastoral staff to any patient who desires counseling. A sense of spirituality is an important part of the established 12 Step programs, which we honor with our spiritual resources and optional programming. We are not affiliated with any religious institution.

Patient Services
-
We prefer to have our patients focus their full attention on their recovery, so all food preparation and housekeeping are completed by our staff. The daily menu is planned and prepared by our head chef- Chef Mac, who is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America- and his on-site team. The housekeeping staff keeps patient rooms and bathrooms clean, provides laundry service and can always be counted on for a smile and a kind word.
-
-
Addiction is a disease that impacts the entire family, so the weekend Family Wellness Program is open to the families of all Ashley patients. Through discussion and therapy, family members can explore, along with their patient, the issues that have stemmed from the addiction and begin working toward open and honest relationships.
